We aren’t dead, just alot has happened consuming time normally spent in front of the grill. We moved from Lake City to Cap Hill, where BBQ and apartments seems to be on an almost complete lockdown. I recently found a park one block from our apartment that had an open BBQ and immediately made some street meat.
This combined with some good weather got me thinking about where to take some next steps.
I’ve spent the last few days reading and researching about what the various rules and regulations Washington State and Seattle have on temporary food establishments.
I have this idea that creating some great street meat in… unexpected locations (or a farmers market) on a monthly or twice monthly showing could be a great experience.
What do you think? Do you want to see Midnite Barbecue out in public more? Is there something other than street meat that you would like to see us cooking? Reply to us on Twitter and share with your friends!
Hey everyone, thanks for coming out to Menu 3. We had a blast. Thanks also to Uberbeth for helping at the grill.
We learned a few things that will hopefully make the next one even better:
- The whole RSVP thing is kinda lame. Sometimes more people come than planned. Next time, RSVP if you can so we can get general numbers, but feel free to bring / invite other people.
- Money is pretty helpful. We got enough to fill our propane tank for next time. Still trying to figure out how to do the money side.
- More onions are better than fewer onions.
Menu 4 will be meat on a stick.
We are currently experimenting with a compare / contrast of propane v. charcoal and BBQ pizza… Expect some more from this.
